AER is a private non-profit organization that provides soldiers, families and retirees emergency financial assistance–interest-free loans or grants for funeral expenses, food, rent, vehicle repairs or medical/dental care. This program also offers scholarships to soldiers’ spouses and children. Soldiers are encouraged to make contributions in the form of cash, check or allotments, and complete a DA form 4908. Contact the Army Emergency Relief Officer at ACS for more information, DSN 335-5321.
